Chapter 1: City on the Edge of Eternity

This place I call home is nothing more than a few rich people lording their power over the masses. If my circumstances had been different, I too, would have been one of the rich, lording their power and wealth over the insignificant masses. You see, you must understand, once long ago the government controlled or funded many public services like schools, banks, police, fire and emergency aid. Now all of these services are privately owned. Do you know what that means? It means just a handful of people control all the money and aid that everybody needs at some point in their life. When all that power is in the hands of just a few, obviously greed and moral corruption sets in. This is a grimy, dirty city where bad and vile things are bred from the top and seep to the bottom. Its a city that knows no end.
